The song features samples and interpolations from several popular songs (e.g. Show Me Love and Gimme More). Consequence of Sound speculated that it was a reference to a feud between Wiley and Stormzy, specifically Wiley’s tracks such as Eediyat Skengman 3 (Stormzy Send), which criticizes Stormzy for working with Sheeran. This is also the first time that drummer Morgan Simpson has sang on a black midi track.
